About Us
ESO Theater is a licensed Public Place of Amusement and Performing Arts Venue. We cater to professional and budding Artists of all genres. ESO Theater is a Member’s only social entity carrying respect and integrity with our every move. As previously stated, we are immersed in positive vibes. As a non profit organization, your membership and donations are felt throughout the culture. As an eclectic mixed use theater, we strive to uplift and bond with creatives. We encourage experienced Artists to invest in themselves by producing and directing events here at ESO Theater. We are dedicated to providing outstanding hospitality and customer service.
History
As far back as the early 1900’s, storefront theaters have been the training ground for young artists. Chicago was one of the first major cities to embrace and develop this culture.
Storefront theaters have since been recognized as key showcase outlets for various genres of art. Today you can find storefront theaters all around the world.
Based on our spiritual faith, we know that ESO Theater is a blessing from God, given to Anjenette Smith with instructions to go forth and create. She chose her children, her life partner, her mother and her close friends to join and create the fundamental team that is ESO Theater. This is a group of everyday people with backgrounds in healthcare, transportation, logistics, literature and art. The hard work and dedication put forth by this team is immeasurable. How we ever made it can never really be put into words. You just had to be there. Simply put, ESO Theater has been a growing vision since 1997, taking shape in 2001, maturing in 2006, and becoming tangible in 2012. Acquiring official legitimacy in 2014 had divine hands all over the journey. Praise God for the great times and adversities that has woven priceless wisdom into our fabric.
